ABOUT US
The Christian Religious Education Program (CREP-SC.) on the Sunshine Coast is a highly successful and well supported program by local state schools, principals, churches and the community. Across the Sunshine Coast, 42 schools have a functioning religious instruction (RI) program each week.

The program is also highly supported as many parents choose to say YES to their children participating in Christian RI in order to give them the opportunity to question, explore and discover faith and Christian values for themselves as part of a holistic education. Australian parents think that it is important to teach values to Australian school students and believe that Australia's Christian heritage has been influential in shaping those values.

Additionally, the teaching of RI in local state schools is supported by the Queensland Education Act which permits up to 1 hour of religious instruction each week per class. On an average week, over 200 trained volunteers teach Christian RI to over 12 000 students on the Sunshine Coast! They instruct from curriculum that is approved by the local ministers fraternal and recommended by the CREP-SC board.

We believe that the success of an RI program in a school is correlated to the level of training their RI volunteers have undergone. That is why we host a number of training workshops and events throughout the year. Our mission is to "raise the bar" of the quality and excellence of every RI program in every school across the Sunshine Coast. CREP-SC  hosts a variety of workshops during the school term that aim to enhance the skills of RI volunteers and empower them to be professional, efficient and effective religious instructors. CREP-SC  also provide support for school coordinators and their teams by providing training and networking opportunities.

Please see below for detailed information about the workshops we host throughout the year.

FAN THE FLAME WORKSHOP
The Fan the Flame workshops occur biannually and are our biggest event for the year. Here, religious instructors from all over the Sunshine Coast gather together to be trained, equipped, empowered and inspired to be the best religious instructor they can be! Each workshop has a new guest speaker with expertise in working in children's ministry and are usually nationally and sometime internationally renowned. Every workshop also has a different focus and theme designed to build on your existing knowledge. The workshop is normally held over a half day on a Saturday.

Please see the calendar of events page for more info on when our next Fan the Flame workshop is being held.
