Romans 10:15
How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a teacher? And how shall they teach without being sent? As it is written: "How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the gospel of peace, Who bring glad tidings of good things" |

WHAT YOU ARE INVESTING IN
We are a not-for-profit volunteer organisation, providing quality training, support and resources for Christian religious instructors and coordinators to implement the Christian Religious Instruction (CRI) program in local state primary schools on the Sunshine Coast. The program is OPTIONAL - parents choose whether their children participate. There are many parents who are grateful for the program because they cannot afford to send their children to private Christian Schools. This program is the ONLY way students have the opportunity to learn about the Christian faith during school hours. Our volunteer instructors are committed to encouraging students to explore who God is, and what it means to have a relationship with Jesus, through engaging and interactive learning activities.
Veritas Not-for-Profit Bible College develops and trains those who are called to teach young children and youth about the Christian faith and what it means to have a relationship with God. We believe it is imperative when teaching others about the Christian faith, that those who are teaching know and understand how to interpret the Bible well. Whether you are a children's leader or youth pastor, or just want to understand and interpret the Bible well for yourself and your family or home group, please go here to submit your expression of interest.
In order to provide quality services to our volunteers, CREP-SC has invested in 3 key positions:
- ADMINISTRATION- our administrator works from our offices and is vital in linking the volunteers to the necessary support and pastoral care needed. Also, assists and supports schools, churches and RI teams with the management of EQ policies, compliance and governance when involved in RI in a local school.
- TRAINING- involves 4 key areas. RI Volunteers, RI Coordinators, Mentors mentoring new people, Prayer and Pastoral support. Those delivering training and receiving training are assessed and approved based on skills and competencies shown.
- RESOURCES-A variety of resources are needed in order to provide engaging and memorable lessons taught through the bible and laid out in the curriculum chosen. The curriculum is constantly being reviewed and its delivery monitored. In order to provide teams with approved and engaging resources, time, effort and finances is heavily invested. Ongoing support to invest in the most up-to-date resources is our most valuable and costly asset.

TRAINING
I am driven by the need to see those who teach the next generation about the Christian Faith, do that well. I set up the organisation because I saw the need to provide training, support and resources to those who communicate the Christian Faith through the RI program in schools. It is imperative that they way in which we do that is respectful to the environment in which we teach and to the parents who give us permission EVERY week to teach their children about faith and about Christian values. |

RESOURCES
Over the last 5 years, along with bibles as a necessary component of teaching the curriculum we, have resourced over 5000 bibles, curriculum and resources for use in the classroom. The incredible testimony here is that we have been teaching students through the year how to read the bible and learn how God speaks to us through his word. At the end of the year, so many students ask if they can take their bible home. They have formed a strong bond with their bible!
CLASSROOMS
Peter and Maureen Homan’s classroom teacher love the lessons they deliver each week, and the classroom teacher says that whilst she doesn’t proclaim to be a Christian or go to church, she feel like she is attending church in a way, when Peter and Maureen come to teach RI! She looks forward to it every week.
A STUDENT'S PRAYER REQUEST
One student asked in an anonymous prayer request, put into the prayer box, if Jesus can help him with bad dreams and being scared at night. Next week in RI, the RI instructor said that Jesus knows and loves each person and can help with any problem they have. The next week in the prayer box, the student thanked God, because when he prayed each night, he never had bad dreams!
BEING A LINK BETWEEN THE SCHOOL COMMUNITY AND THE CHURCH
The constant dynamic we see in schools every week, is the need that cannot be met by any other source. Our society struggles with so many issues and fears, and it is 'the church' which is often looked to, to provide the solution. Our RI teams are often involved in bridging the gap and helping the Chaplains and social services personnel in the school, provide for these needs. The areas most commonly in need of help are, breakfast programs (it always concerns us when students arrive at school without having had breakfast). One of our volunteers owns a fruit and veggie business and part of their support of their local school, is to provide fruit for the breakfast program. They often see parents come into the store with children that are part of their RI class. Feedback from parents is one of gratitude and respect. The other needs are, one on one care and support of students with learning and social difficulties, food and care packages and much, much more. Your support helps us meet some of those needs. Our role in the school is not just to provide quality, trained instructors to deliver the lessons, but ensure a holistic approach to caring and supporting students and families in our local school communities.
